Two days. Dozens of conversations. One theme that sits at the heart of everything Winblock does.
Last week our Business Development Associate Ann had the privilege of attending the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS) - Kenya Seminar a gathering of some of the most forward thinking minds in Kenya's built environment sector.
The theme this year: Health, Dignity and Inclusion in the Built Environment.
And she came back thinking this is exactly the conversation our industry needs to be having louder. Here is what stayed with her.
We spend a lot of energy designing buildings that are beautiful. Structurally sound. Aesthetically considered. Commercially viable.
And yet the conversation about whether those buildings are genuinely safe and inclusive for every person who lives and works inside them that conversation is still catching up.
A building is not finished when the last tile is laid. It is finished when the family on the fourteenth floor can open their balcony door without fear.
When the child with special needs can move through a space without encountering a preventable risk.
When the design choices made in the boardroom translate into real dignity for the people living with those choices every single day.
That is the intersection where Winblock lives.
We are not just a safety product. We are a response to a gap that exists between beautiful construction and genuinely human centred living. Between a building that looks complete and a home that actually feels safe.
The seminar reinforced something we already believe deeply that innovative building solutions are no longer a nice to have; they are a responsibility.
Products and technologies that improve safety, comfort and quality of life are not extras. They are the standard that modern development should be held to.
Grateful to Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS) - Kenya for creating a space where these conversations happen. Grateful to every industry professional who showed up ready to be challenged and to think differently.
